Antiphonarium Nidrosiense — Gregorian chant from Nidaros To be released October 28, 2026 Schola Sanctae Sunnivae bases its vocal style on the performance indications preserved in the earliest sources of the Liturgy of the Hours, applying these to later repertoire in a historically and stylistically compelling manner. This imbues the chant with the vitality that characterises exceptional interpretations of Europe's oldest art music, Gregorian chant. Reflecting on our past — guiding us forward. Recording sessions Photo Gallery Henning Sommerro's compositions, Praeludes & Interludes, create a rhythm within and around the Liturgy of the Hours. They enter where the liturgical tradition would otherwise feature scripture readings, or they mark a natural transition to the next hour of prayer. The themes are primarily drawn from the original material. The Eastern character of the chant and fiddle reminds us of the roots of Gregorian chant — in the East. The bells are inspired by the carillon of Nidaros Cathedral, while the marimba adds a resonant modernity. The movements are composed and partly improvised to create a timeless atmosphere around the Gregorian chant. Total Playing Time: 2 hours 23 minutes Schola Sanctae Sunnivae baserer sin sangstil på fremføringsanvisningene som står nedskrevet i de eldste kildene til tidebønnene. Ensemblet anvender disse på senere repertoar på en historisk og stilistisk overbevisende måte. Klokkene er inspirert av klokkespillet i Nidarosdomen, mens marimbaen tilfører en klangfull modernitet. Satsene er komponert og delvis improvisert for å skape en tidløs atmosfære rundt den gregorianske sangen.
